Lions History

  • Son of Lions (his father Aldo was a member of the Savona Lions Club since 1964), founding member of Savona Leo Club in 1972 and in 1975 of the Varazze Leo Club. He became a member of the Varazze Lions Club on April 1st, 1978 during the gala dinner of the 5th National Convention of Leo Clubs, and since 1981 he is a member of Savona Torretta Lions Club. He has 30 years of 100% attendance – Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow (90/91, 02/03, 05/06, 07/08, twice in 08/09, 09/10 and 10/11). Founder in 1975 and publishing owner of TIL (The Italian Leo) official magazine of three Leo Districts in MD 108. He was founder and Editor of the Leo MD 108 Yearbook for the first 4 editions. He is Honorary Member of Pinerolo Acaja Lions Club since 2001.

He won the First Price in the “Imagine and P.R.” contest at the Osaka Convention 2002 with the publication of the book “A year together” listing all activities of the Clubs and of the District during his year as District Governor.

He has participated at all District Conventions of District 108 Ia3, at 12 of the old District 108 Ia, and also at other District Conventions of other sub districts 108 Ia1, Ia2, Ib1, Ib2, Ib3, Ib4, Ta3, Tb and AB, 28 National Conventions, 1 Mediterranean Convention, 4 Pre – Forum and 17 Europa Forum, 11 International Conventions, 9 Leo National Conventions.

He has also participated at MD 111 Convention (Germany) in 2001 in Hamburg, at the District 411 Convention (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda) in Addis Ababa in 2002 and at the All Africa Conference in Bulawayo (Zimbabwe) in 2007, Tunis (Tunisia) in 2008, Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) in 2009, Marrakech (Maroc) in 2010 and Lusaka (Zambia) 2011.
